New Paper on microviral infection mechanisms

Lead author Dr. Pavol Bardy from Prof. Fred Antson's lab at the University of York publishes a beautiful new paper in mBio, and we were lucky enough to collaborate with them on this project!

Using cryo-electron tomography, Pavol unveils a key step in the infectious process of the newly discovered microvirus "Ebor" - after attachment onto the lipopolysaccharide of the Rhodobacter host using five protrusions of the capsid protein, the particle opens up like a flower in bloom to inject its DNA into the host.

As with the earlier preprint, all credit goes to Pavol Bardy, Alfred Antson & their team for fantastic electron microscopy!
